Tower Station and U Drop Inn
In the once bustling town of Shamrock, Texas, the Tower Station and U Drop Inn served tens of thousands of Route 66 travelers each year. This building, with its art deco architecture and distinctive towers, became the inspiration for Ramone's House of Body Art in the Pixar movie, Cars. In the movie the beloved character, Mater, was fashioned after a truck like the one sitting next to the station.
