The road was treacherous, it was 10 degrees and the wind was blowing 50 miles an hour at Augerberry Point in Death Valley. I had to hold onto the tripod to have any hope of a sharp photo. But the sunrise did not disappoint and the morning was a success. The point is named after Pete Aguereberry, a French immigrant who sailed to America in 1890. His original cabin still stands a few miles from the point.
